CONGO is presently forming a Youth Advisory Committee as a committee of
the Board of Directors to advise on matters affecting youth and youth
NGOs. (Please note that the YAC is not part of the NGO Committee on Youth.)
Application period closed
The 2003 application period for the CONGO Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)
has now closed. One hundred and one outstanding applications were received
from around the globe! YAC members will be selected and announced in July/August
2003. (All applicants will be notified as to the status of their application.)
What is the difference between
the YAC and the NGO Committee on Youth?
In addition to the YAC, CONGO has an NGO Committee on Youth
that meets in New York and another that is forming in Geneva. These committees
provide a nucleus for youth advocates in the New York and Geneva areas
who are active with the UN, and a base for NGO representatives who arrive
in New York and Geneva from other areas of the world who wish to discuss
issues of concern
to youth. Contact details for these committees can be obtained from CONGO's
offices in New York and Geneva.
