Description:

The purpose of the NGO Committee on Youth at the United Nations Headquarters in New York is:

1) Strengthen the position of youth and youth NGOs;
2) Provide a forum for the exchange of information and for substantive discussion on issues and policies related to youth under UN consideration;
3) To facilitate cooperation among its members organizations in areas related to youth issues at the United Nations;
4) Facilitate substantive dialogue and discussion between member organizations and the Youth Focal Point of the UN Secretariat;
5) Promote the dissemination of information among NGOs and among the general public on issues relating to youth. This includes United Nations documents relating to youth.
