The Equator Initiative announces
The final "Call for Nominations" for the Equator Prize 2004.

Nominations will be accepted until 5 October 2003.

The Equator Prize 2004 will recognize six outstanding community initiatives that demonstrate extraordinary achievement in reducing poverty through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in the equatorial belt. Each of the six selected initiatives will receive a monetary award of US$30,000 to be presented at the Seventh Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Malaysia on the evening of Thursday 19 February 2004.

Please share this information with other individuals, communities and organizations who may know of initiatives that merit nomination.
