Gender/Women Caucus
The meeting focused on the ability for women and men to share the same power (e.g. economic, professional, legal) within society. It was noted that division of labour has always given men more social, economic and cultural power over women. The participants deliberated on how to encourage men to share these aforementioned powers within society. One person suggested that a positive campaign about women's natural skills and abilities may help close the power gap between both genders. For example, one natural skill is a woman's ability to handle budget constraints. Women all over the world, despite monetary constraints, make sure that there is enough money to buy food for their immediate or extended families. This campaign therefore aims to convince men that a win-win situation will result if women are allowed to share power with men in society.
