NGLS Unveils New Website on CS-UN Relations

The United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (NGLS) has launched a new section of its website that will provide up-to-date information on UN reform with a special focus on UN – Civil Society Relations. The new section also showcases background information on the reform process, including reports issued by the Secretary-General and the Secretary-General's Panel of Eminent Persons on UN Civil Society Relations, statements by Member States, perspectives from the NGO community, background papers and more. General Assembly Debates Secretary General Proposals on UN-Civil Society Relations

NGO Paper Clarifies Issues Related to UN-Civil Society Relations Report

An NGO paper in response to the UN Secretary General's recommendations on the High Level Panel on UN-Civil Society Relations has been produced entitled "Towards a consensus in shaping the future of United Nations - NGO relations." It addresses some misunderstandings and concerns of governments and NGOs related to the Panel's report. The report can be downloaded here (Word document).

Consultation on High Level Panel Report 26 July

CONGO and NGLS are sponsoring a consultation on the Report of the Secretary-General's High Level Panel on UN-Civil Society Relations which will take place on Monday, 26 July 2004, 2-5:30pm in Room IX of the Palais des Nations.

OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF HIGH LEVEL PANEL REPORT

21 June 2004: Official launch of the Report of the Secretary-General's High Level Panel on Relations with Civil Society, New York, 10am. Simultaneous launch of the Report in Geneva with a video-link to the New York launch.  Geneva Launch in Room III of the Palais des Nations at 4pm Monday 21 June.  

The text of the report is now available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
