The
following is a message from Renata Bloem, President of CONGO, regarding
Civil Society participation in the first preparatory meeting of
the World Summit on the Information Society. The Prepcom will
take place from June 24-6 in Hammamet Tunisia.
NGLS (Tony Hill and Ramin Kaweh)) and CONGO (Renate Bloem) were
invited to a meeting with the Tunesian Ambassador, H.E. Habib Mansour,
representatives of the Executive Secretariat, Mr. Charles Geiger
(Deputy Executive Director) and Mr. Moncef Achour (Program Officer
for Civil Society) and another person for Civil Society to be informed
about the Tunesian proposal regarding the participation of Civil
Society in the upcoming Preparatory Meeting (PrepCom1) 24 -26 June
in Hammamet, Tunisia.
The proposal contained the following points:
- Accommodation
costs in Hammamet will be provided for the Civil Society Bureau(1
person per family) for the period 23-27 June 2004. Each family
has to identify its own representative.
- The
Tunesian Government will further cover accommodation costs for
a number of NGOs coming from Least Developing Countries (LDCs),
three NGO participants per LDC country, each representing
a NGO
- The
list of beneficiaries will be taken care of jointly by the Tunesians
and the WSIS Secretariat (Division Civil Society)
- All
other Civil Society participants will benefit from reduced hotel
prices foreseen for PrepCom1 as well as from welcome facilities
at the Airport andfree transfer to Hammamet.
Excluded
from this are international travel costs. All persons registered
to participate at PrepCom1 will receive a confirmation note which
allows them to obtain the necessary entry visa, as well as 50% reduction
on all roundtrip Tunis Air flights destination Tunis.
It is understood that all participants will have been accredited.

Dispositions concernant la participation de la Société
Civile à la réunion préparatoire (Hammamet,
24-26 Juin 2004)
Les frais d'hébergement des membres du Bureau International
de la Societé Civile (1 personne par famille) à Hammamet
pour la période de 23-27 juin 2004, pourraient etre couverts
par la partie tunisienne.
Les autorités tunisiennes envisagent la prise en charge des
frais de séjour en Tunisie (Hammamet), pendant la période
23 -27 juin 2004, d'un certain nombre d'ONG des pays les moins cés
(Trois ONG par PMA), à raison d'un participants par ONG concernée.
La liste des bénéficiaires de la prise en charge sera
arrètée conjointement entre la partie tunisienne et
le Secretariat Exécutif du SSI (Division Societé Civile)
Pour les autres participants de la societé civile qui ne
seraient pas pris en charge, ils bénéficieront des
réductions hotelières prévues pour PREPCOM1,
ainsi que des autres facilités d'accueil à l'Aéroport
et du transfert à Hammamet.
Les frais de transport international sont exclus de cette prise
en charge.
Par ailleurs, la procédure déinscriptions prévoit
que les personnes inscrites pour prendre part à la PREPCOM1
(Hammamet, 24-26 juin 2004) recevront une motification d'inscription
leur permettant d,obtenir les visas nécessaires ainsi que
la réduction de 50% sur les vols directs de Tunis Air à
destination de Tunis et retour.

Disposiciones en cuanto a la participación de la sociedad
civil en la reunión preparatoria. (Hammamet, 24-26 de junio
2004)
La parte tunecina podría sufragar los gastos de alojamiento
de los miembros de la Oficina Internacinal de la Sociedad Civil
( Una persona por familia) en Hammammet por el período
del 23 al 27 de junio 2004.
Las autoridades tunecinas tienen la intención de sufragar
los gastos de permanencia en Túnez (Hammamet), durante el
período del 23 al 27 de junio 2004, de varias ONG de los
países menos avanzados (3 ONG por PMA) con un participante
por ONG seleccionada.
La parte tunecina y el secretaría ejecutivo del SSI (Sección
Sociedad Civil) definirán conjuntamente la lista de los beneficiarios
de este apoyo.
Los otros participantes de la sociedad civil disfrutarán
de reducciones hoteleras previstas para la PRECOM1, y otras facilidades
para la recepción en el aeropuerto y para el viaje hasta
Hammamet.
La parte tunecina no sufragará los gastos de viaje internacional.
El proceso de inscripción prevé que las personas registradas
para participar en la PREPCOM1 (Hammamet, 24-26 2004) reciban una
notificación de inscripción que les permitirá
lograr los visas necesarios y una reducción de los 50% para
los vuelos directos de Tunis Air con destino a Túnez (Ida
y vuelta).
