The next PrepCom for LDC III will take place 2 - 6 April in New York.

NGO Briefings will be held each morning from 9:00 to 10:00 in United Nations Conference Room 5. There will be an NGO Orientation for NGOs planning to attend the PrepCom on Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April, 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Church Center for the United Nations (44th Street and 1st Avenue). The NGO Forum will take place 10 - 20 May 2001 in Brussels. More details about the Forum, its activities, a first draft of NGO policy paper and information on how to participate can be found on the NGO Forum website. The categories of NGO eligibility for participation at the Conference are:

  • NGOs in consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC);
  • NGOs accredited to the Second Conference on LDCs (LDC II) in 1990; and
  • NGOs in consultative status with the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
All other interested NGOs must submit a request for accreditation to the Secretariat of the Conference (UNCTAD) before 15 March 2001.
