Why is this meeting important to NGOs?

As you are aware, NGOs are able to interact with the UN through the consultative relationship with ECOSOC. The ECOSOC process is open, transparent, and gives specific rights and responsibilities to NGOs. Discussion about possible reorganization of ECOSOC should keep NGOs in a prominent role, but if we are not in the process, we can be overlooked.
