THE BEIJING AGENDA

The Special Session of the UN General Assembly met last June to review the progress made in implementing the Beijing Platform for Action endorsed by delegates at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995 and to consider further actions and initiatives.

Issues of particular importance to women will be addressed at upcoming United Nations events and conferences. The process leading up to these events will focus on areas of vital interest to the Beijing agenda. The following information has been gathered to facilitate the connection between United Nations meetings/conferences and the ongoing issues of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
