30 September - 1 October 2010 -- Online registration open - Call for Submissions of Action PointsCoNGO is pleased to announce that the Geneva Component of its Civil Society Development Forum (CSDF) - “Women’s Human Rights and Development: Inclusion, Participation, and Equality” – will take place on 30 September and 1 October 2010 at the International Labour Office in Geneva. The Geneva Component of CSDF 2010 is to review the Outcome Document of CSDF 2010–New York Component, in conjunction with the conclusions and recommendations of ECOSOC’s Annual Ministerial Review as reflected in the Ministerial Declaration, which focused on "Implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to gender equality and the empowerment of women". The expected product of the Geneva component of CSDF 2010 is a set of concise action points addressed to governments, the United Nations System and civil society. Re-scheduled: 2 October 2010, GenevaCoNGO's President, Mr Liberato C. Bautista, announced that the Officers of CoNGO decided to re-schedule the Board meeting originally intended to take place on 23 and 24 October in Dakar, Senegal. The last CoNGO Board meeting for 2010 will therefore now be held on 2 October 2010 in Geneva. The meeting is open to members of CoNGO who are invited to attend as observers.[more]
| Originally scheduled on 25 October 2010 The public launch of the newly established CoNGO Regional Committee in Africa originally scheduled on 25 October 2010 in Dakar, Senegal, has been postponed. The Preparatory Committee, which is also serving as the Provisional Leadership Team of the Regional Committee in Africa, and CoNGO are committed to re-scheduling the event as soon as possible. The time and location of the public launch of CoNGO’s Regional Committee in Africa will be announced via the CoNGO E-Update and at www.ngocongo.org. Meanwhile, CoNGO is inviting member NGOs to join the Regional Committee in Africa to ensure – already from its public launch – the engagement of a broad palette of civil society representatives in this important and timely initiative to facilitate and strengthen the collaboration of CoNGO members across the entire region of the African continent.
