23 - 25 February 2009, Pathumthani, Thailand(12 December 2008) Dear all, Please note the new dates for the postponed meeting of the CoNGO Board of Directors scheduled for December 2008. It will now be held on 23 - 25 February 2009 at the same place as originally planned--the Asian Institute of Technology some 40 kilometers outside of Bangkok. This meeting will include an agenda item on the final formation of the CoNGO Asia Regional Committee, and its launching in the morning of February 25. There will also be an academic colloquium on the Millennium Development Goals, in the afternoon of 25 February, jointly sponsored by CoNGO and AIT. This announcement also serves as official notification for CoNGO members and other NGOs, especially those based in the Asia Pacific region, to join the meeting and be part of the launching of CoNGO's first regional committee. The event was a follow-up to review the Outcome Document of CSDF 2009-Geneva Component and the Ministerial Declaration of the ECOSOC 2009 High-Level Segment, which focused on "Implementing the Internationally Agreed Goals and Commitments in regard to Global Public Health". CSDF 2009-New York Component was held in collaboration with the Office for Economic and Social Council Support and Coordination (OESC), UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA), and with the assistance of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).[more]

Bautista, at ECOSOC's High-Level Segment now availableCoNGO held the New York Component of its Civil Society Development Forum (CSDF) 2010 on 4 and 5 May 2010. This year, the theme of CSDF is “Women’s Human Rights and Development: Inclusion, Participation, and Equality”. CoNGO’s Civil Society Development Forum is an NGO preparatory meeting for the Substantive Session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This year, the theme of the Annual Ministerial Review (High-Level Segment of that Substantive Session) will focus on “implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to gender equality and the empowerment of women”.[more]
