Following CONGO's Civil Society Development Forum (CSDF) 2008 New York Component (27-29 June 2008), the CSDF 2008 Geneva Component is now scheduled to take place on 27 and 28 October 2008.[more]

CSDF 2008 - Civil Society Development Forum - 27-29 June 2008, New York Component

The New York component of CONGO's Civil Society Development Forum 2008 (CSDF 2008) - "A Platform for Development: Countdown to 2015 - Implementing the internationally agreed development goals and commitments in regard to sustainable development" was held 27-29 June 2008. The Outcome Document of the CSDF 2008 is now available online. CONGO also organised midday NGO briefings in collaboration with the UN NGO Section, UNDESA throughout the week of the High-Level Segment of ECOSOC's Substantive Session.[more]

WSIS Related Cluster of Events 2008

A series follow-up and implementation meetings of the World Summit on the Information Society outcomes will take place in Geneva. Organised around the 11th session of the UN Commission for Science and Technology for Development (26-30 May 2008) and the World Information Society Day ceremony (16 May 2008), the cluster will also include multi-stakeholder implementation facilitation meetings and various ICT-related meetings and consultations.[more]

3rd UPR Session: Geneva Course for Defenders from the Regions

CONGO and Geneva for Human Rights - Global Training (GHR) are organizing a Geneva Course for human rights defenders from the regions attending the 3rd session of the Working Group of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).[more]

Civil Society Development Forum 2007

A Platform for Development. Countdown for 2015. The Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CONGO) and partners, has the pleasure to announce the dates of the Civil Society Development Forum to be held 28-30 June 2007 in Geneva. The Forum will be convened to bring together actors of global civil society to think future and to work on issues related to the wider development agenda.[more]

CoNGO Board March 2007 NY

The next CONGO Board meeting will be held on 5-6 March 2007 in New York. More information will follow shortly. CONGO Board meetings are open to CONGO members as observers and we encourage in particular Committee Chair persons to attend.[more]

CoNGO General Assembly 2007

The 23rd General Assembly of CONGO was held 5-7 December 2007 in Geneva at the International Conference Centre (CICG).[more]

Human Rights Council 2007

The fourth session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) will be held from 12 March to 5 April 2007 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva (room XVII). Pursuant to General Assembly Resolution 60/251, the participation of NGOs in the Human Rights Council shall be based on the arrangements and practices observed by the Commission on Human Rights, including Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31 of 25 July 1996.[more]
